The exhibition “Ink Worlds: Contemporary Chinese Painting from the Collection of Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang” opened on May 23 at the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University.

The collection of Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang is regarded as one of the most important private collections of contemporary Chinese ink art. Ink Worlds brings together a wide range of works from their holdings—spanning from the 1960s to the present—including ink paintings, calligraphy, prints, photography, and video, highlighting the remarkable versatility and adaptability of contemporary ink as a medium.

Liu Kuo-sung’s 1966 painting “Zen Dream” is featured in the exhibition and was selected as the cover image for the exhibition catalogue.
